"My [dog] is not giving me a hard time, they're having a hard time."

This is something many parenting experts repeat, and I deeply believe this applies to all the living beings in our care. From jumping on visitors and pulling on the leash to aggression and anxiety, your dog's behavior is communication about how they feel.

So, rather than emphasizing training and consequences, I help you get to the root cause: the big emotions and needs behind the behavior.

However, it's not all about the dog; you have needs, too. You likely feel dismissed and invalidated, or helpless and defeated. You are probably hurt or angry, and that's not what you were hoping for when you brought your dog home.

"[Dogs] Do Well If They Can."

- adapted from a quote by Dr. Ross Greene

I am here to help you understand your dog's feelings and needs so they can feel empowered to be the best they can be. I am also here to help you feel safe, heard, and supported so you can be the best you can be. Only then can you both begin to take steps toward healing your relationship together.

It's never too late. Let me help you reconnect with yourself and your dog and build a meaningful and rewarding relationship.
